We are a new independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan journalism organization based in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Like most regions, the Central Valley used to have a wealth of independent newspapers and media organizations. Every year we have fewer. As attacks on journalism grow and corporate influence often strangles the media that survives, the importance of a variety of independent news sources becomes more critical. We will be reporting on issues relevant and vital to the community, such as housing, the environment, health, art and education. In order to do the investigative work that is required to report stories comprehensively and accurately, we need your financial help.
